About the Alberta Community Futures Rural Diversification Initiative (CF-RDI)
Alberta Community Future's Rural Diversification Initiative (CF-RDI) is an important initiative. It has served to deliver significant economic gains through partnerships between communities and entrepreneurs.
CF- RDI is based on the belief that, in order to be competitive, rural communities must build long-term sustainability, resiliency in the face of change, and a broad economic base with a variety of businesses and jobs. In order to do this, CF-RDI is comprised of two critical components. The first is assistance in the building of capacitiy to plan and implement projects that lead to rural economic diversification. The second portion of the CF-RDI program made funding available for eligible projects. The final intake for CF-RDI project grant applications was June 15, 2011. Therefore, effective that date, CF-RDI is no longer accepting funding applications.
